Job Description SummaryThe Senior Wind Fleet Engineer will provide technical engineering solutions to field technicians, internal functions including engineering and supply chain, and customers. The Senior Wind Fleet Engineer on the mechanical team will analyze and improve the availability and power performance of the Americas installed fleet to ensure GE meets contractual obligations and maintains world-class performance for our wind turbine fleet.

Roles and ResponsibilitiesProvide Technical Engineering Solutions / Repairs / Escalation for issues that have been problematic and escalated from Services teamWork with first level support to proactively identify failure trend in an early phase and to initiate corrective actionsLead Root Cause Analysis program and develop proactive technical solutions to prevent issues prior to becoming large business cost driversProvide technical supervision for retrofits and validation of performance increaseTake new perspective on existing solutions. Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.Explains difficult or sensitive information to both leadership and external customers.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree of Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical) from an accredited university or collegeMinimum of 5 years of experience in Field Services or Engineering.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the timeAbility and willingness to climb a wind turbine
Desired CharacteristicsPrior background with rotating equipment such as wind turbine gearboxes, bearings, and generators.Strong foundation in bolted joint analysis.Technical Versatility and ability to learn technology outside of one's specialtyStrong oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
